More From Right Nation 2010
We had a "press availability" with Andrew Breitbart, and listened to him describe his experience confronting liberal demonstrators like the ones outside.
Meanwhile, RNC Committeewoman Demetre DeMonte and Herman Cain spoke on the stage, and I went up and visited some of my friends from Northern Illinois Patriots.
Phil Kerpen is speaking now about the Congress, warning about the lame duck session.
Warner has posted a picture of Bloggers' Row, where you can see me, and the evidence that the demonstrators came in on CPS school buses.
Pete Hoekstra gave a good talk, now we're hearing from John Fund: "You are the voice of the new politics... The people must get involved."
Marathon Pundit reports on the Breitbart interview.

I saw this fellow outside before things got underway.

The view from my seat.

Breitbart meets the press.

Herman Cain discusses the possibility of running for president.
Bill Brady is speaking now. There have been reports over the past week suggesting that Brady would skip this event. He's giving his standard stump speech, but it's being well-received.
Andrew Breitbart is speaking now, bragging about how he intimidated the protesters outside. "We the people have to become the media, we have to become vigilant."
There's a Presidential Straw Poll being taken; the results will be announced Monday. Candidates are: Haley Barbour, Herman Cain, Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Mike Pence, Mitt Romney. I think that's a good list.
Aaron Schock is on now; someone booed him when he was introduced, otherwise he got polite applause. What color is that tie? More energetic applause when he brags about voting against the stimulus. "More Americans believe that Elvis Presley is still alive than believe that stimulus bill created jobs." Nancy Thorner, sitting next to me, is nodding "right, right," as Schock complains that there have been no new nuclear plants in the U.S. in 20 years.
Schock gets a standing ovation when he wishes for a president "who will stand up to the rogue states of Iran, and Korea, and not the State of Arizona." Diersen points out that as soon as he mentions immigration, he gets the standing O.
Just went back to the interview room to see Aaron Schock (his tie is purple). When I asked about the response he got on the Arizona remark, he reiterated that the president needs to focus on real problems.
Glenn Beck is on now (his tie is also purple). I don't watch his show much, but he's doing great. I know this because he's covering some of the same themes that I've focused on recently.
Beck on charity: "There are millions of people in America who cannot make ends meet. There are millions of people who don't have jobs. They need help, and if we don't help them, the government must. Let's put the government out of business by being charitable ourselves."
Beck: "We're not stupid, and we refuse to be treated like children. We're not violent, we're not racist, we're just not going to stand for it any longer."

Demonstrators At Right Nation 2010
(#RN2010, #tcot, #gop) As soon as the press got their fill, they left, but there was briefly a group of demonstrators bussed in (in Chicago Public Schools buses) to protest against the "hateful," "crazy" Republicans and conservatives. (Warner will have a picture or two of those shortly.)

Here's a shot of the group, I would have guessed 150 or so of them. Something you rarely see when liberals demonstrate, they had American flags issued to them.

Here's some typical liberal contempt: "Crazy is not a political belief."

A lot of the signs said "Stop the Hate," but others said things like "Go Home Glen," referring to featured speaker Glenn Beck. The signs seemed to alternate between "Stop the Hate," and various hateful liberal nonsense.
The speakers, during the brief time I listened, seemed to be alternating between prayers, bible-reading, and vague accusations of racism against conservatives.
Much ado about nothing.
Marathon Pundit has more!!

Abortion As Seen By A Child
People like to claim that abortion is a complicated issue. It's not. Even a child can understand it, and explain it.

What's At Stake In Illinois in 2010
My good friend Dan Sugrue explains what is at stake in the 2010 elections in Illinois:
Contribute to Dan Sugrue here!
What other districts’ legislators do affects all of us. What other states’ legislatures do affects all of us. Dan is a good conservative family man with a real chance to unseat a liberal Democrat. Please help him out with your contribution today!

Abortion Clinic Director Fakes Bomb Threat Against Her Own Clinic
In the combox of another post I've been arguing about whether liberals or conservatives are more violent. Here's yet another example to weaken his position: Reports of conservative violence are often greatly exaggerated (H/T:Creative Minority Report):
Investigators said Linda Meek reported on Aug. 13 that a bomb had been placed in a trash can at Reproductive Services of Tulsa, according to documents filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Tulsa. The clinic, which was bombed twice in 1997, and an adjacent building were evacuated, but a bomb technician determined that a suspicious box in the trash can was not an explosive.(Cross-posted to Lake County Right to Life Blog.)
Meek, who left her position with the clinic after the incident, is charged with conveying false or misleading information, according to the documents. Meek, 63, is scheduled to make an initial court appearance in federal court on Thursday. She faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
Some pro-life advocates said they believe Meek may have been trying to mislead authorities and the media, to portray abortion opponents as violent fanatics who will stop at nothing to end the practice.
Republican state Rep. Mike Ritze, who supports pro-life legislation, said the bomb scare is part of a growing trend among abortion activists to represent opponents as violent and dangerous in order to divert public scrutiny from themselves
