Investigators said Linda Meek reported on Aug. 13 that a bomb had been placed in a trash can at Reproductive Services of Tulsa, according to documents filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Tulsa. The clinic, which was bombed twice in 1997, and an adjacent building were evacuated, but a bomb technician determined that a suspicious box in the trash can was not an explosive.(Cross-posted to Lake County Right to Life Blog.)
Meek, who left her position with the clinic after the incident, is charged with conveying false or misleading information, according to the documents. Meek, 63, is scheduled to make an initial court appearance in federal court on Thursday. She faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
Some pro-life advocates said they believe Meek may have been trying to mislead authorities and the media, to portray abortion opponents as violent fanatics who will stop at nothing to end the practice.
Republican state Rep. Mike Ritze, who supports pro-life legislation, said the bomb scare is part of a growing trend among abortion activists to represent opponents as violent and dangerous in order to divert public scrutiny from themselves

Abortion Clinic Director Fakes Bomb Threat Against Her Own Clinic
In the combox of another post I've been arguing about whether liberals or conservatives are more violent. Here's yet another example to weaken his position: Reports of conservative violence are often greatly exaggerated (H/T:Creative Minority Report):

Then there is the comment at the end of the article by the PP chief executive Anita Fream claiming they don't paint pro-lifers as dangerous or voilent. Yet, that is exactly what they do. But given how much PP lies this isn't surprizing.
Liberal pro-aborts will stop at nothing to further their baby-killing agenda.
Yeah, but did you miss the part that says "The clinic, which was bombed twice in 1997." I mean, do you think the original bombings were done by liberals?? Kind of amusing I think that you post a link which clearly SHOWS violence against this clinic.
Who's to say the bomb weren't planted to gain sympathy & get insurance money?
Really Bill Hoog?? That's the best you can come up with? A legal enterprise, decides to bomb itself in order to get what?? The ability to perform abortions?? Guess what genius, it is legal. They don't need to bomb themselves to get attention (or sympathy or insurance).
But Jake, that's what she did! Why do you think she did it?
Lets see what the judicial system says. You, a fine upstanding citizen, would at least afford her the right to a trial..no?
The right to trial, yes. The "right" to prevent me speculating, no.
Could've been a "Reichstag fire" & politically motivated to gain sympathy for killing babies. This time she got caught. Just because it's legal doesn't make it right, unless you REALLY are for slavery, Jim Crow laws, interning Americans of Japanese & German ancestry, or killing Jewish folks...

Jake, legal system says: 5 years!
