Hi Paul,
I thought you said you recognized the security guard as an employee of the library? Leaving the "thug" label aside, the title "Representative Melissa Bean Hires a Thug" seems to be very inaccurate if that guy was library security.
I did not say that; I said I'd been told he was an employee of the library.
And I didn't make or title this video.
But thugs are as thugs do, and this guy is a thug.
I live on the border of Oakland, where we have real thugs. That guy was an overzealous rent-a-cop. And the guy with the camera was acting like a garden variety tool.
Making effective arguments against Melissa Bean's policies should be easy enough. She is a Democrat and this is a very bad recession. There is no need to resort to sensationalized highly-edited footage insinuating she has an entourage of hired thugs.
I thought that blog you sent me to was going to illuminate me on the policy issues concerning Illinois's 8th congressional district. Instead it has one post and it's that same video you posted, but with a misleading title. Either that post was what was there (title and all) when you linked to it, or you made your decision to send us there by the classy name alone:

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I just expected more. I've been following you for awhile, and usually you present some good arguments or point us to a couple good sources that do. This just wasn't one of those times.
