... between a murdering right-wing Christian extremist and a murdering left-wing Muslim extremist?
The Muslim acts alone, but all right-wing Christians participate. And the President only deplores one of them, and only deploys federal marshals against one group.

What's the difference between the Irish Catholic Church covering up endemic child abuse abuse in its institutions and Obama using a teleprompter?
Only one warrants mention on this blog.
Dude, in America we've been going through that for years. It's old news here.
Horrible stuff, to be sure. If only those priests, bishops, monks and nuns had actually followed Catholic teaching.
But it's a big world, Oliver, and I simply won't be commenting on the overwhelmingly vast majority of issues, topics and questions deserving comment on this one little blog.
But we hold Obama to a different standard? He must comment on everything?
Blogging is my hobby. I have a day job. The president is president full time.
One day, a campaign contributor, a political friend, is killed by someone who is his political opponent. He uses the opportunity to smear other political opponents with the crime.
The very next day a man who has sworn to give his life in defense of the nation Obama leads, is murdered, by someone who hopes to deter others from taking similar oaths. Obama makes no remark about the incident.
The obvious message: Christians are terrorists, not Muslims. Pro-lifers are terrorists, not anti-Americans. Abortion clinics are under assault, not recruiting offices. Abortion doctors (especially those who abort healthy 9-month fetuses) are precious, soldiers are a dime a dozen.
This is not the first time the president has let slide Islamic terrorist activity in the U.S. during his short presidency. There's a clear agenda here: President Obama feels more threatened by pro-lifers than by Muslims, and his attention is very clearly on the one, and not on the other.
But you know what? There were 300,000 people at the March for Life in Washington in January. If all pro-lifers were violent, there would be no more abortion providers.
On the other hand, the thousands killed in the bombings and attacks in New York, Washington, London, Madrid, and thousand more who might have been killed in attempts in San Francisco, Chicago, various airliners, and a host of other places, all give testimony to the real danger posed by radical Islam. But in 36 years, only four abortion doctors, but 50 million babies, have been killed in the U.S. by pro-lifers who had converted to choice.
He must comment on everything?
Obama is the president of the United States, also the COMMANDER AND CHIEF of our Armed Forces.
With a staff of employees at his disposal among which, surely, at least one person has the job of apprising him of news and daily events.
Obama made it clear that his troops are not the men and women in the military, but the abortionists.
As for the abuse in Irish schools, deplorable and shameful, but totally unrelated to this debate. I give you an A for effort in obfuscation, though.
Oliver, you have no problem with Obama having no problem leaving babies who survive an abortion to die in a garbage can, compromising our country's exceptionalism, taking over private businesses, putting bigots and racists on the Supreme Court and in government positions, and yet you are indignant about the Catholic Church in Ireland abusing kids?
He finally did comment on the soldiers getting shot but it was so apathetic it was appalling. He's the f'n COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF?!
Baby-killing doctors getting killed themselves are still not even in the tens. Muslims have killed miilions...just like abortionists. Hmmm. But we can't blame the Koran even though it says to kill the infidel and islamicize the world.Oh NO!
It shows where priorities are.
If I were the bishop I'd have given those Irish Child abusers the whippin' myself and thrown them in prison, but irrelevant to this post.
But since you brought it up, take a gander into how muslim schools are run. Just ask the President!
Really? Recruiting offices are under assault? Surely you don't even buy that lame comparison.
Anonymous, there's been many more violent incidents and uncivil protests at recruiting offices in the last decade than at abortion clinics. It's just that one gets reported, the other doesn't.
VSO, in fairness to Oliver, he's made clear his disapproval of late term abortion. He's also British.
The behavior of the media is often inexplicable, but I can think of an explanation for the disparity you note: There is no organized Islamic militant movement in the U.S. There is, however, an organized right-wing extremist and supposedly "Christian" movement in the U.S. The right-wing "Christian" movement has backers in the mainstream media and politics. Although there are extremist and militant Muslims in the U.S., they do not constitute a movement and they have no mainstream backers.
Elizabeth, I would argue the militant Muslims have many more sympathizers in the mainstream media than do Christian pro-lifers, and late-term abortion doctors are much more popular in the media than are military recruiters.
