"That woman" Oliver? Your sexism is showing. She's annoying because she's exposing your messiah for the fascist he is and you don't like it? We told you so.
PMSNBC criticizes the teleprompter? Now that's news.
But, but, but, but, wait...I thought the MSM was so tied up fawning over Obama that they couldn't possibly criticize him...that they look the other way anytime Obama does anything wrong, etc. etc. What gives?
Say what you will about Maddow, there are times when she cuts right through the horse hockey in a way the rest of the MSM doesn't.
She did it with our not-so-esteemed ex-governor Blago, at a time when even some alleged conservatives were buying into his claim of not getting a fair impeachment trial. I am pleased that she is willing to call it like she sees it for another (ahem) esteemed son of Chicago politics.
My wife and I like her presentation (sarcastic sometimes), her humor, and how she will point out flaws in the MSNBC Messiah, but don't like her lifestyle and political affiliation. Facts and Truth are truth, even when coming from someone we don't normally agree with.
War can be defined as a criminal conspiracy so large the normal tools of law enforcement don't work to defeat it.
Does anybody have an idea what to do with POWs in the war against political Islam? They don't have a chain of command that could surrender, the way Germany and Japan did in WWII(1) - so there will be no formal end of hostilities. At the same time, battlefields are not conducive to collecting the evidence that would hold in a criminal trial.
The situation is messy. It has to be, since our civilian code is insufficient for dealing with war, and the military law was created for wars between nation states. Does anybody have a better solution than prolonged detention?
(1) The existence of such a chain of command is one of the requirements to be protected by the Geneva Convention.
This is a fine smokescreen! Obama is trying to create this trap under teh guise of detaining Islamic terrorists. But this is merely his way of getting this "legal regime" created ~ and then, he'll use it to come after US.
What is going to happen, if this new Legal Regime is created, is that more and more christian, right-wing, pro-life, "homophobic" etc etc AMERICANS will end up detained because they will supposedly "Pose a threat to national security." We're already being painted as extremists and dangerous. Obama and his administration is working the crowd.
Yeah, we're frogs in a pan of water that is slowly being brought to a boil...
Of course Oliver is a sexist, he advocates violence against women in order to cover up men's responsibility for sexual behavior or, as some people like to call it, abortion.
Let's see...it started with the letter from homeland security about right-wing domestic terrorists, defined as anyone who is anti-abortion, anti-tax, or anti-immigration. Then the government plants a murderer for George Tiller and a psycho racist to shoot up the Holocaust museum. Obama is now planning to create a legal framework for holding people indefinitely, so they can round up the conservatives that disagree with the administration. Soon to come - some more high profile killings by supposed domestic terrorists. My prediction is someone killing some Hispanics and the person will have a supposed history of being anti-immigration. They are following a play book. I've seen it before and just like before, the public will willingly let it happen again. This way they can round up guys like Paul, who are anti-abortion and attend anti-tax rallies.
Does Rachel Maddow know the quite meaningful difference(s) between jail, prison, and detention? It would appear that she does not.
Further, how prolonged and indefinite is a period of no more than twelve months? I ask the question because the President claims to be on schedule to closing Gitmo before the dawn of 2010.
I am devoutly Roman Catholic, a veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force, I am husband of a wonderful wife and the father of six children. I hold a BA in Economics from The University of Texas at Arlington and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interpreting and Translating from the Community College of the Air Force. I am a former candidate for public office, and the charter past grand knight of a Knights of Columbus council.
1. If you want your values to survive into the future, there is no substitute for fertility.
2. No republic can survive the apathy of its citizens. If the people fail to object when their representatives vote to increase their own power, they will be inexorably reduced to slavery.

Agreed. This is frightening. No different than Bush, and certainly not right.
that is incredible. How disappointing.
And that woman, Maddow, woah, is she annoying.

Rachel doesn't get it. She doesn't get much.
