Abortion Law And Lawlessness

When they tell us that banning abortion won't stop abortion, I usually argue that murders go on, even though they're illegal; should murder be legalized?

This of course, is dodging the point. The real point of that argument is this: when person is willing to kill babies, making it illegal won't stop them.

Fresh evidence from Indiana and North Carolina highlights how Planned Parenthood already ignores inconvenient laws in its rush to promote underage sex.

UPDATE: This staffer has been suspended. That didn't take long. No doubt it's much more for the crime of being caught on tape than for what she actually did, but we'll take what we can get.

When liberals accuse pro-lifers of being "anti-woman", we should point out that they are pro-rapist.

There have been far too many cases of this sort of behavior to write it off as anything other than the corporate policy of a billion-dollar corporation. And there has been too much publicity for these incidents to write off the lack of outrage by the pro-aborts as anything other than approval.

Silence implies consent.

RG,

There is no sense arguing with a pro abortion person. They are ignorant in the ways of life and what God gives us. It is a very simple, you calmly look at them an ask them where would they be it their mother had chosen abortion. Then just as calmly turn and walk away.

You do great work on your blog keep it up. Oh by the way I came here at the suggestion of Subvet over at Blowin'Sans blog.

liberals are not pro-rapist, you can't say that. You can't complain that (some) liberals call you anti-women and then do the same to them. Be the change you want to see.

the video is appalling.

Like a typical liberal, Oliver, you criticize me before you take issue with the abortion clinic.

"Be the change you want to see."

The change I want to see is the abolition of abortion. Liberals can lie all they want, but the truth is that they're willing to cover up statutory rape as a matter of course in order to further their gruesome goals.

Do they intend to be pro-rapist? Perhaps not, but who cares what they intend? Their effect is pro-rapist. Planned Parenthood -- and its defenders -- is the molester's best friend.

Oliver, go see the Vagina Monologues then tell me liberals are not pro-rapist, especially the liberal icon Gandhi had his goon-squad rape when it served them. PP the evil mutant spawn of genocidal racist Margaret Sanger only cares about business, which is killing a baby. They don't care where it's from.

And yes he can say that and he did. In the USA we have something called "The First Amendment" which liberals claim to love except when conservatives use it to say something liberals don't like.

The video is appalling, but true.

May I ask a legal question? In Israel there is something called doctor-patient privilege. If I tell something to my doctor, it's a secret and the doctor cannot normally be compelled to tell the government about it. This is, for example, so that drug users will be able to provide their doctors with the full information to treat them.

Is there an analogous privilege in US law? If so, would it cover organizations licensed for health care, such as Planned Parenthood?

Yes, Ori, we call it doctor-patient confidentiality. There is also a federal law, usually known by its acronym HIPAA (pronounced "hippa"), that limits disclosure of one's personal health information to third parties. I do not know precisely how HIPAA applies to Planned Parenthood, but I assume that it does.

However, there are other laws which trump doctor-patient confidentiality. Many states require doctors and other medical personnel to report any case of known or suspected child abuse, including sexual abuse. If a 12- or 13-year-old girl has gotten pregnant by an 18- or 19-year old (or older) guy, that is clear evidence of sexual abuse, which must be reported. In most states, including my own, a sexual relationship between an adult male and a girl age 13 or younger is a felony that could carry a lengthy prison term.

Another exception to doctor-patient confidentiality are the laws, in most if not all states, that require doctors to report when they treat gunshot wounds. I should think that the reason for such laws would be obvious.

Also, VSO, Eve Ensler has since edited the "pro-rape" part of the "Monologues" script (in which a woman fondly recalls a drunken sexual encounter with an adult woman at age 13). The girl's age has been raised to 16 and her line about it being a "good rape" has been removed.

No, I haven't seen the Monologues, and don't intend to. I just want to point out that liberals as well as conservatives did object to that part of the script strongly enough to convince the author to change it. Of course, the question is why they can't be convinced to show equal outrage against real as well as fictional sexual abuse.

You're exactly right.

if the pair of you sincerely believe that liberals are pro-rapist and a molester's best friend then even I will pray for you.

Oliver, watch the videos again. Tell me that this isn't Planned Parenthood's corporate policy. Tell me that statutory rapists and child molesters don't benefit. Then tell me that liberals don't support Planned Parenthood.

Go ahead. Tell me. Make me believe it.
